To help close the wealth gap, a group of millionaires is urging governments throughout the world to make them pay higher taxes. In an open letter, 102 millionaires have said that the current tax system is unfair and causes a loss of trust. The signatories, who brand themselves as patriotic millionaires include Disney heiress Abigail Disney, who has long advocated for greater taxes for the wealthy, her brother Tim Disney, and early Amazon investor Nick Hanaue. Individuals from nine countries have signed the letter, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, and Germany. The group claims in the letter that the international tax system has created a lack of trust between ordinary people and the "architects of this system."
