TMC MP Saugata Roy raises Delhi’s toxic air to hit back at BJP over smoking row

Amid a furore triggered by BJP MP Anurag Thakur’s complaint that a Trinamool Congress member had used a banned e‑cigarette inside the Lok Sabha, Saugata Roy told reporters that smoking is barred only “inside the House” and insisted there is no rule against smoking in the open areas outside the main building. Roy, who was recently filmed smoking on the Parliament premises and confronted by Union ministers Giriraj Singh and Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, hit back by accusing the BJP of ignoring the broader public-health crisis of toxic air in the capital.
