How the Odisha Model to Boost Hockey Powered India's Olympic Dreams

- Odisha Sports Secretary Vineel Krishna spoke to Hindustan Times on the Indian men’s hockey team’s historic Bronze at the Tokyo Olympics. As the entire nation plunged into celebrations after the Indian team lifted a medal in the Olympics after more than four decades, greetings poured in from across the country for Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik - a patron of the national game during its dark period. The Odisha government, which became an official sponsor of the national hockey teams, both men and women, in 2018, ultimately reaped the credit. The Indian men’s hockey team defeated Germany 5-4 to win their Bronze match after 41 years. Watch the full video for more.
