Trump Calls Brazil Election a ‘Disgrace’, Refuses to Name Legitimate Winner | Lula

US President Donald Trump has reignited controversy over Brazil’s presidential election, calling the vote a “disgrace” despite recognising Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva as the country’s president. Asked whether he would speak to Lula and congratulate him, Trump said he would talk to him but repeated his criticism of the election. When pressed on who he considered the legitimate winner, Trump declined to name anyone. His remarks could add another diplomatic complication to US-Brazil relations.
