US Envoy Steve Witkoff Arrives in Russia for Putin Talks on Ukraine Conflict

US special envoy Steve Witkoff has arrived in St. Petersburg, Russia, for talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin on resolving the Ukraine conflict. Witkoff travelled from Norway, where he had previously met Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy. Russian special envoy Kirill Dmitriev received Witkoff at Pulkovo Airport ahead of the scheduled meeting at Konstantinovsky Palace. Kremlin aide Yuri Ushakov said the Ukraine conflict settlement would be the main focus of discussions, while cautioning that an agreement was not guaranteed. Jared Kushner, initially expected to join the visit, reportedly cancelled his Russia trip due to illness.
