North Korea has launched more than 10 ballistic missiles toward the Sea of Japan, according to reports from Japanese broadcaster NHK and regional military sources. The launches reportedly occurred near Pyongyang at around 1:20 p.m. local time, with the missiles landing in waters outside Japan’s exclusive economic zone. The tests come amid rising tensions on the Korean Peninsula as the United States and South Korea conduct large-scale joint military drills involving thousands of troops, tanks, armored vehicles, and engineering units. Pyongyang has repeatedly condemned these exercises as rehearsals for invasion and often responds with missile demonstrations. Meanwhile, reports suggest the U.S. is facing logistical challenges in sustaining operations in the Middle East and may redeploy air defense systems, including Patriot batteries from South Korea, to support ongoing missions.
