United States is unlikely to place sanctions on Iranian oil exports despite Tehran’s massive attack on Israel, reported Reuters. The Biden administration’s reluctance to sanction Tehran stems from fear of a spike in global oil prices in an election year and angering China which is the top buyer of Iranian oil. The Biden administration has also been criticised by opposition Republican Party which claims the U.S. President is going soft on Iran and making it easier for Tehran to sell oil.
