VdL attacked: Hungary slams EU's Ukraine 'madness', begs Europe to wake up before it's too late

Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto slammed the European Commission’s proposal to send €100 billion to Ukraine, calling it “madness” as he arrived for the EU Foreign Ministers’ meeting in Brussels. Szijjarto pointed to a widening corruption scandal in Kyiv, referring to a “war mafia” and accusing Ukraine of having a deeply compromised state system. His remarks follow reports that two Ukrainian ministers resigned over a $100 million energy contract scandal implicating close allies of President Zelensky. While Ursula von der Leyen urges more aid, Zelensky has backed anti-corruption agencies—after previously trying to limit their powers, prompting mass protests.
