The Financial Times has reported that a broker for U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth explored a multimillion-dollar investment in a defense-focused BlackRock ETF shortly before the Iran war, with Reuters saying the inquiry was made by Hegseth’s Morgan Stanley broker in February and cited three people familiar with the matter. The proposed investment reportedly did not go through because the fund was not yet available for purchase through Morgan Stanley at the time.
