The German frigate 'Bayern' is expected to dock in India's financial capital on January 21. Seen as a bid to counter China's assertiveness, the warship is expected to spend a few days in Mumbai. The recent developments follow Germany's announcement of policy regarding the Indo-Pacific. Germany & other western nations are expanding their military presence in the Indo-Pacific region. Territorial disputes have been the cause of tension in the region; Western nations don't accept China's claims.
