Wildfire Fury in Spain: Flames Race Across Caceres, Villages Evacuated

Specialist firefighting crews battled a fast-moving wildfire in western Cáceres province after flames swept through the Las Hurdes area, forcing around 700 people to evacuate nine villages. The fire reportedly broke out near Robledo and spread rapidly through difficult terrain, with intense heat and strong winds hampering efforts to contain it. Around 150 ground personnel and 17 aircraft were involved in the operation, supported by heavy machinery and reinforcements.
