Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese on Thursday reiterated his government’s commitment to tackling terrorism and hate speech, outlining a four-point plan following the Bondi terror attack. Speaking at a news conference in The Entrance, New South Wales, Albanese defended his decision not to call a federal royal commission, instead highlighting ongoing legal proceedings against those responsible, a New South Wales royal commission into the incident, and full Commonwealth cooperation. He also reaffirmed plans for a national intelligence and security review led by former ASIO chief Dennis Richardson, as well as a report by Australia’s Special Envoy to Combat Antisemitism, Jillian Segal. Albanese said these measures aim to address security failures, strengthen intelligence coordination, and combat rising hate and extremism across the country.
