Anti-Modi U.S. Lawmaker Pramila Jayapal Applauds, Gives Standing Ovation After PM Modi's Speech

Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered a historic speech at the U.S. Congress. His speech got 15 standing ovations and 79 rounds of applause. Among those applauding was U.S. Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal, known for her anti-India rants. Ahead of PM Modi's U.S. visit, Congresswoman Jayapal and Senator Hollen wrote a bicameral letter to Biden urging him to raise controversial issues with PM Modi. She urged Biden to discuss human rights issues, restrictions on press freedom and the internet. However, this was not the first time Pramila Jayapal took an anti-India stand.
