The U.S. finally ordered the withdrawal of 1,000 troops from the West African country of Niger this week. Politico quoted an U.S. official as saying that negotiations are still on. He added that the troops would be pulled back over several months and the timeline could keep changing. Since April, the U.S. has been negotiating the pull back of its troops with Niger's military junta. However, the talks seemed to have gained momentum after Russian troops entered Niger and began sharing an air base with the U.S. Army in Niamey in April this year. Watch for more details.
