Cases double as China scrambles to contain biggest covid surge in two years

Covid cases in China doubled on Sunday as 3,400 fresh infections were reported from across the country. The surge in covid cases has forced authorities to lock down the cities and confine people to their houses. The surge in cases is being attributed to highly infectious omicron variant of the Covid-19. Several North-eastern cities in China have been locked down to contain the Covid surge, the biggest in two years. Reports say that sixteen provinces along with cities like Beijing and shanghai reported new Covid cases. Watch the video for more.
