China has defended its decision to ban exports of dual-use goods to Japan, saying the measures were taken in accordance with Chinese laws and regulations. The move comes amid an escalating dispute triggered by Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi’s remarks on Taiwan, which Beijing called “erroneous.” China said the restrictions target military users or activities that strengthen Japan’s military capabilities, urging Tokyo to address what it described as the root cause of the tensions.
