Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani has underlined the fragile nature of the Gaza ceasefire, warning that the deal remains incomplete despite being a major breakthrough. Speaking in an interview, Al Thani said the first phase of the agreement does not mean the process is finished, stressing that Israeli forces still control more than half of the agreed withdrawal zones, fuelling daily violence and tension on the ground. He also welcomed Qatar’s inclusion in the newly proposed “Board of Peace,” saying Doha is committed to playing a stabilising role alongside international partners. On Iran, Al Thani rejected military escalation, urging diplomacy to address both nuclear and regional security concerns. He said Qatar continues to engage Washington and Tehran, advocating dialogue over conflict to avoid a nuclear arms race in the Middle East. Al Thani also called for an inclusive political process in Syria, emphasising institution-building and equal rights as the foundation for long-term stability.
