Türkiye’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has slammed Israel’s move to recognize Somaliland as an independent state, warning it risks destabilising Somalia and the wider Horn of Africa rather than helping it. He argued in Addis Ababa that such external steps “benefit neither Somaliland nor the Horn of Africa” and urged that regional states themselves, not foreign powers, should shape solutions so the Horn is not turned into a geopolitical battleground.
