France on the edge; a million people hit the streets amid Pension Reform row

The three-month revolt against Macron govt over pension reform has reached its peak with anger among the demonstrators mounting. Protesters clashed with security officials in the most serious incidents of violence so far. Several cities, including the capital Paris, descended into chaos as the protest entered its ninth day. In Paris, protesters lit fires and clashed with police personnel in the historic centre of the city. Clashes also broke out in Nantes, Toulouse and Lille where security officials used tear gas and water cannons to counter protesters. The Interior Ministry says around 441 police personnel were injured and at least 457 protesters were arrested across France. Watch this video for details.
