France is battling its largest wildfire of the summer as a massive, fast-moving blaze rages through the Aude region near the Spanish border, scorching over 12,000 hectares—an area bigger than Paris. The fire has left at least one person dead at home, injured up to eleven (including seven firefighters), and forced widespread evacuations from campsites and homes. Officials say the wildfire remains “very active” due to relentless heat, strong winds, and dry conditions, with more than 1,700 firefighters on the ground and aerial support deployed.
