Saudi Arabia has imposed a ban on Islamic missionary movement Tablighi Jamaat, calling it a danger for the society and one of the gates of terrorism. The ban was announced by Kingdom's Minister of Islamic Affairs, who asked country's mosques to deliver sermons against the Tablighi Jamaat on Friday and warn people against associating themselves with the movement. Tablighi Jamaat, which was established by an Indian cleric linked to Deoband seminary in 1926, is a trans-national Sunni Islamic missionary movement focused on reviving Islamic faith and practices among Muslims.
