Madagascar plunged into turmoil as Gen Z-led protests culminated in the impeachment and ouster of President Andry Rajoelina. Military commander Colonel Michael Randrianirina announced on national radio that the armed forces had seized power, dissolving the Senate, courts, and electoral commission. Rajoelina reportedly fled aboard a French military plane after his own coalition lawmakers voted him out on grounds of misconduct.
