The Palestinian militant group Hamas has begun broader consultations to select their new leader following the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh on July 31 in Iran's capital city of Tehran, according to the Times of Israel. Al Mayadeen reported that Hamas members held consultations across its leadership and Shura institutions to appoint a new leader for the movement.
