- Loud explosions rock Russian Military Airbase in Western Crimea. Explosions that took place at Novofedorivka triggered plumes of smoke into the sky. Eyewitnesses say at least 12 explosions happened at the Saky Naval Airbase. Some Ukrainian media outlets claimed that it was a missile attack by Kyiv. But the Russian Defence Ministry says that it was not an attack but a detonation of ammunition. Crimea’s emergency services claim that one person has died while three got injured. After Russian base blasts, Ukrainian President Zelensky says ‘we will return’ to Crimea. However, Zelensky clearly said Ukraine is not taking responsibility for Crimea blasts.
