India, Russia take big trade move as Trump raises tariffs on New Delhi to 50%

India and Russia on Wednesday signed a new protocol to enhance industrial cooperation across sectors such as aluminium, fertilisers, railways, and mining technologies. The move deepens bilateral engagement at a time when geopolitical tensions are reshaping global trade alignments. This renewed cooperation comes amid mounting pressure from the West, particularly the United States. US President Donald Trump has announced a 50% punitive tariff on Indian exports, citing New Delhi’s growing trade links with Russia and its increasing.
