The relationship between India and Canada came under severe strain following Justin Trudeau's allegations last year of “potential” involvement of Indian agents in the killing of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar. Recently, India expelled six Canadian diplomats and announced that it was withdrawing its High Commissioner in Canada, Sanjay Kumar Verma. This after Ottawa linked the Indian envoy to the probe into the killing of Nijjar. The US Justice Department, in its indictment in the plot to kill Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) founder Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, drew a direct connection between former Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) officer Vikash Yadav and the Indian Prime Minister’s Office (PMO). In this episode of South Asia Diary, strategic affairs expert Sushant Sareen stresses how it is time for India to draw the red line with the US and Canada.
