Iran fires missiles toward U.S.-U.K. base on Diego Garcia: WSJ report | IRGC

Iran launched two ballistic missiles toward a joint U.S.-U.K. military base in the Indian Ocean on Friday, according to a Wall Street Journal report. The strikes did not hit the base on Diego Garcia, a small island in the Chagos Archipelago, officials told the Journal. One missile failed in flight and a U.S. warship reportedly fired an SM-3 interceptor at the second. It’s unclear whether the fired interceptor was responsible for the second missile’s failure. The attempted attack comes as President Trump criticized the U.K.’s “late” decision to permit the U.S. military to use its bases in the region for strikes against Iran. Watch for details
