Updated on Jul 03, 2018 12:45 pm IST
The Chicago Zoological Society has some happy news to share: the western lowland gorilla born at Brookfield Zoo last month is a girl named Ali. Mother, Koola, and her newborn can be visited at the zoo's Tropic Word: Africa habitat. Brookfield Zoo now houses four generations of the gorilla family. Western lowland gorillas are native to West Africa and are considered critically endangered. About 350 live in North American zoos.
