Macron Invites Fury Of Niger Military; French Envoy Defies Junta's Orders To Leave Niamey

French president Emmanuel Macron has said that the French ambassador to Niger will continue to stay in Niamey. This despite expiry of an ultimatum issued by the Niger military on Friday, asking Sylvain Itte to leave Niger in 48 hours. Macron dared the Niger Junta and said that the French envoy will continue to remain in the West African nation despite protests as France does not recognise the new military regime.
