Big war of words between China and the United States. A Chinese defence official reacted to US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth's remarks regarding threats from Beijing. Hu Gangfeng, Vice President of China’s National Defence University, accused Hegseth of making “groundless accusations” at the Shangri-La Dialogue in Singapore. He said Hegseth's actions are nothing more than attempts to provoke trouble, incite division, and stir up confrontation to destabilise the Asia-Pacific region.
