Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov accused Ukraine of attempting to fuel conflicts in Africa by supporting forces opposed to governments friendly to Russia. Speaking after talks with Burundi’s foreign minister, Lavrov alleged that Ukrainian representatives were involved in the conflict in the Democratic Republic of the Congo alongside foreign-backed groups. He argued that African crises should be resolved under the principle of “African solutions to African problems” and criticized what he described as outside interference. Ukraine has previously rejected similar Russian allegations. Watch Lavrov’s full remarks from the press conference and the latest developments in Russia-Africa relations.
