Peshawar blast exposes Pak's precarious security; How bomber entered red zone | Explained

A suicide bombing at a mosque in Peshawar has highlighted the precarious security situation in Pakistan’s tribal belt near the Afghanistan border. Questions abound over how a suicide bomber managed to sneak in explosives and blow himself up inside Peshawar’s highly guarded Police Lines area. Akhtar Ali Shah, a security analyst and former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa inspector general of police, explains possible scenarios. Shah claims that "it is possible that there was somebody from the police who turned rogue and joined militant elements."
