Pezeshkian calls Oman nuclear talks ‘last chance’ amid deep US-Iran mistrust

In Tehran, President Masoud Pezeshkian framed the new Oman nuclear talks as a “very good opportunity” for a fair and mutually acceptable deal, insisting Iran sought its NPT rights on enrichment and the lifting of “unjust sanctions.” The Iranian president extended a “hand of friendship” to states ready for sincere cooperation, even as U.S. strike threats and protest unrest had hung in the background. At his side, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi spoke of a “very large wall of mistrust.” Were these remarks a last chance at de‑escalation—or a warning before another clash?
