Are Russian-owned properties near NATO military installations creating hidden security vulnerabilities across Northern Europe? Sweden, Lithuania and Norway are raising concerns over Russian-linked houses, holiday cabins and other sites located near sensitive military infrastructure. Sweden plans to seize a waterfront property beside the strategically important Muskӧ naval base, while a Russian Orthodox church near Västerås airport has reportedly raised surveillance concerns. Lithuania has also flagged property purchases near sensitive locations, warning of potential intelligence gathering, espionage, influence operations and sabotage.
