Putin thanks Hamas while meeting freed Russian hostages at Kremlin

Russian President Vladimir Putin hosted former hostages at the Kremlin on April 16 in an unusual move. Putin met Alexander Trufanov, his mother Yelena Trufanova, and his fiancée Sapir Cohen. Putin reportedly expressed gratitude to Hamas for what he called the “humanitarian act” of releasing them.
