Russia’s reported use of new Banderol missiles is intensifying pressure on Ukraine’s Black Sea ports, threatening vital maritime trade and grain exports. Attacks around Odesa, Chornomorsk and Pivdennyi have reportedly targeted civilian shipping, while commercial vessel traffic has fallen sharply. The Golden Leo grain carrier was reportedly struck by Russian missiles while carrying corn near Odesa. Ukraine says Banderol missiles have been used actively against the region since mid-July. With reported ranges exceeding 300 miles and speeds of around 400 mph, the weapon adds another threat to Ukraine’s maritime corridor. This video examines the missile’s capabilities and impact on trade.
