Storm hits Donald Trump's new social media platform Truth Social

- Days after former US President Donald Trump announces a new social media platform to take on the likes of Twitter and Facebook, a controversy has erupted. 'Truth Social' has reportedly been accused by Software Freedom Conservancy of violating a free and open-source software licensing agreement. The SFC, a non-profit for enforcing open-source software licenses, has reportedly said that Trump's new platform has 30 days to comply or face permanent termination or legal action. The Republican leader was banned by social media giants following the riots on Capitol Hill on January 6 this year, in which his supporters tried to occupy the US Congress to prevent certification of Joe Biden's election.
