Switzerland sides with Putin; Swiss firms plan return to Russia after Bern blocked arms aid for Kyiv

Published on Feb 07, 2023 10:57 AM IST

Switzerland has taken yet another pro-Russia step in the midst of the Ukraine war. Large Swiss companies that left Russia over Ukraine-related western sanctions last year are now reportedly planning to return. According to a Credit Suisse Research Institute survey, roughly 40% of polled companies had negative reactions to the imposition of anti-Russia sanctions. More than three-quarters of the firms surveyed believe that maintaining Swiss neutrality is in the best interest of their own company. The latest survey findings come just weeks after Bern blocked the shipment of certain Swiss-made military materials from Spain to Ukraine. Watch this report for more.
