Taliban claim of entering Panjshir valley rejected by Resistance: Reports

• With Panjshir-based Resistance refusing to bow down before the Taliban, clashes reportedly occurred in Kapisa and Baghlan provinces on August 28. The Taliban reportedly suffered serious casualties in the clashes. Meanwhile, the extremist group claimed that it had entered the Resistance's stronghold Panjshir valley from various directions. This claim was contested by a leader of the anti-Taliban force, who said no fighting took place. The Resistance is led by Ahmad Massoud and Amrullah Saleh, who claims to be the rightful President of Afghanistan after Ashraf Ghani fled the country following the Taliban's takeover.
