Turkey complicates Sweden & Finland’s NATO entry; Lays conditions for support

- Turkey ups the ante against Finland and Sweden's NATO membership. In the latest, Ankara has asked Finland and Sweden to change their laws if needed to meet Turkey's demands and win its backing for their bid to join NATO. Doubling down on a threat to veto the historic enlargement of the alliance, the Turkish Foreign Minister said that our demands are not impossible, we just want them to end support for Kurdish terror groups. NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg is working on the issue and had proposed holding talks in Brussels with all three countries, but Ankara saw no point before Stockholm and Helsinki had responded to its written demands.
