A practice banned in India since 2014 led to the rescue of 41 tunnel workers in Uttarkashi in Uttarakhand on Tuesday. After sophisticated machines failed to rescue the workers, the rat miners were summoned who after manual drilling reached out to the trapped workers and eventually led to their exit from the collapsed tunnel.
