- China has reacted guardedly to the killing of Al-Qaeda chief Ayman Al-Zawahiri in a U.S. drone strike in Afghanistan's Kabul. Claiming that it is against all forms of terrorism, China said that it is opposed to "double standards" on counter-terrorism operations at the "expense of sovereignty" of other countries. "We saw relevant reports. China is always firmly against terrorism. We are actively involved in the international counter-terrorism operations," said Assistant Foreign Minister, Hua Chunying, who is also the spokesperson of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, when asked about China's reaction to al-Zawahiri's death in a CIA drone strike in Kabul.
