Zelensky exposes West's hypocrisy: Russia's Geran-5 fitted with…Ukraine's allies fuel Putin's war?

Published on Jan 23, 2026 10:54 am IST

Ukraine has issued a shocking accusation, claiming that Russia is using Western-made technology inside some of its newest weapons. In January, Ukrainian forces shot down a new Russian missile‑like drone, known as the Geran‑5, near the city of Dnipro, and military experts say they found U.S. and European microchips embedded in its systems, according to the Kyiv Independent. The Geran‑5 is described as a fast, long‑range attack drone capable of flying at roughly 500 to 600 kilometers per hour, making it significantly harder to intercept than earlier models.
