The largest diamond discovered in more a century is unveiled at Sotheby's in New York. Named “Lesedi La Rona” - which means “Our Light” in the Setswana language - the 1,109 carat diamond is about the size of a tennis ball and will be put up for auction in London on June 29th. Sotheby's expects the diamond to fetch more than $70 million (USD).
A small Canadian diamond company, Lucara Diamond Corp, found the diamond in November at its mine in Botswana.
