Ukraine's top military brass withdrew a report that wrongly said Russian troops had left the town of Nova Kahkovka in southern Kherson region, and blamed an error for the mistake. In a rare retraction, Ukraine said Russian troops remained in the town on the east bank of the Dnipro River. Ukrainian military said heavy fighting is underway in the northern sector along a stretch of front running from Lyman to Kupiansk, as well as in the south at Avdiivka on the outskirts of the Russian-held city of Donetsk.
