Interestingly, it was not Driver’s performance that got people talking about the film, but the British bull dog, Marvin, who is also tipped to win the Palm Dog Award, where awards are presented each year to the festival’s best canine performance at the festival.

The other films that showcased superpowers from Hollywood included Joel Edgerton starrer Loving — a film about an interracial couple from Virginia, who faced imprisonment in the ‘50s for getting married.

Interestingly this film by Jeff Nichols was not the only film based on a true story. Actor Robert De Niro’s upcoming film Hand Of Stone was also based on the life of Panamanian boxing legend Roberto Duran that got a special screening and earned rave reviews by the audience present.

On a lighter side, British singer-guitarist Noel Gallagher was mistaken as actor Sacha Baron Cohen. The 43-year-old former member of Oasis, was taunted by local media, who shouted “Sacha, Sacha!” as they tried to take pictures of the person they thought was Cohen dressed up as his football hooligan alter ego, Norman ‘Nobby’ Grimsby.
