A 15-year-old Indian girl died of a massive heart attack while playing at a popular beach amid Eid celebrations in Saudi Arabia, a media report said on Sunday.
Saher Parvez, a 10th grade student at the International Indian School in Dammam (IISD), lived in the Eastern Province.
Her father Parvez Ali Khan, hailing from Rampur in Uttar Pradesh, has been living in the country for the last 20 years.
She was at the Half Moon beach in Al-Khobar area along with her family when the incident took place on Friday, Saudi Gazette reported.
“It was a pleasure trip. We gathered at the beach and my daughter was enjoying the seawaters. After some time she came out from the waters and called my wife,” Khan said.
“Seeing the sudden worsening of her condition, my wife who was near panic called for help. The rescue teams from the coast guard rushed to the spot and shifted her to a nearby hospital where she was pronounced dead,” he said.
Social media was abuzz with rumours that Saher, one of the best students in IISD, was dead of snakebite while she was playing in the water. However, her doctors said that the girl died of a massive heart attack.
