Gadsden Waffle House shooting reports: Reactions pour in

Several people reacted to the reports of shooting at the Gadsden Waffle House. One merely exclaimed saying ‘omg’.

“Yall heard those gunshots?? Yall safe FBF?,” another wrote. Yet another said “Just saw someone get shot here in Alabama waffle house on rainbow drive…”. One worried person remarked “Were there children?? A lot of Gadsden city kids had just left the game.”

Another individual put out a long post on the shooting, explaining their situation. “So grateful Eva so much disdain for crowds and being around a lot of people. Because that’s the only reason her and our chosen daughter didn’t stay a Waffle House to eat. The shooting happened just after they arrived at the WH on Meighan. Believing the children who were injured will be ok,” they wrote.

“She said they kept hearing things all day about guns, shootings, police, and things like that. I talked to them as they were about to get ready to go to the GCHS game, and I said “let me know when yall get there and just shoot me a text when yall start to head home.” They both got quiet then asked “mom, why did you just say that?!” “Um, as a safety measure? Anything can happen in the 1.5 miles from the school to our house and if yall aren’t home within 10ish minutes, I’ll know to come looking for you.” “Omg mom. That’s so scary! Don’t say that.” “Well, it’s true. And I need to know where you’re at and when you’re coming and going.” “I know but the way you said it is scary!” “We’ve heard stuff like that all day.” She elaborated to us more after getting home tonight. And it hit me. Because I have these same things happen to me at times. My whole life. And I’ve learned to listen and take it seriously. Something was trying to get their attention and warn them, ALL DAY. They already had said they were unsure about going at all. Which is sad when your child is afraid to go to their own schools functions. But they went on. She called me while there. She messaged me to lmk they had money and were going to get food from Waffle House and would be home afterwards. G called her to check in at 10:30 because he saw their location was at meighan and wanted to know why. The shooting happened right after. I’m grateful someone was looking out for our girls. I told them to start taking the signs and warnings like that, seriously from now on,” the post added.

Meanwhile, others shared what they had seen at the scene of the reported shooting. “drove right by it on my way home from work,” one wrote. Another added “I dont think ive seen so many cops ambulance fire trucks etc before and theres been some bad things happen here.”
