Multiple officers were shot in Gretna, in Pittsylvania County, Virginia on Wednesday. A massive police response at Homestead Drive with helicopters also responding. Pittsylvania County Sheriff Michael W. Taylor said the officers were serving a warrant when the incident happened.

Sheriff Taylor said that the officers are “shaken” but doing well now. “All three are well. Of course they’re shaken up. And they’re going through the process now of trying to heal,” Taylor said.
The reports of the shooting surfaced on social media with local scanners reporting that multiple officers have been shot.
US Rep. John McGuire, who represents Virginia’s 5th congressional district, confirmed it in a post on X. “We are closely following the situation and keeping everyone affected in our hearts during this difficult time,” he wrote.
Local news station, WDBJ 7 reported that Pittsylvania County Sheriff’s Office, Campbell County Sheriff’s Office, Amherst County Sheriff, Danville Police Department, Virginia State Troopers, Gretna Fire and Rescue, Hurt Fire Department, US Marshalls, and a Centra Helicopter responded to the scene.
