Jayden Spicer, a 10-year-old boy who was reported missing from Breathitt County, Kentucky, has been found dead, his family confirmed Tuesday.
In a Facebook post, Jayden’s aunt, Samantha Brunty, wrote, “Please pray for my family and I. RIP Jayden.”
Father Jim Sichko, a well-known Catholic priest from Kentucky, also shared the news on X (formerly Twitter), offering support to the family, “Eternal rest for little Jayden Spicer — I am offering to cover funeral expenses if needed. May he rest in peace.”

Jayden Spicer was last seen at his home on Panbowl Branch Road on August 5. In the days following his disappearance, Kentucky State Police (KSP) and multiple agencies launched a large-scale search effort across the region.

Search crews have utilized every available resource, including aircraft, drones, K-9s, sonar and extensive “boots on the ground” efforts. {{/usCountry}}Trooper Matt Gayheart told WDKY that Jayden’s body was discovered in a remote area off Canoe Road, approximately 19 miles from his home. No additional details about the circumstances of his death have been released.

Kentucky State Police are expected to provide an update Tuesday evening as the investigation continues. At this time, the cause of death has not been publicly disclosed.
